This tec diving program provides divers a safer breathing medium for enjoying dives in the 12 msw (40fsw) to 39msw (130fsw) depth range. The tek diver may elect to dive the "mix" on EANx tables or conservatively, using their dive computers or air tables with an added safety margin. The course covers the use of EANx mixes in the range of 22% to a maximum of 40%. The IANTD Nitrox Diver Certification is adaptable to being taught as a single program or to be combined with a variety of advanced or specialty diver courses.

PREREQUISITES:

Minimum of 15 yrs qualified OW Diver with parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver qualification or a minimum of 18 years without guardian approval.

    DAY 1 - General Lecture AM: 

• Physiological implications of O2
• Physics
• Dive Tables
• EAD concept
• Operational implications of O2 and O2 safety
• Proper labeling of tanks
• Students must analyze gas
• Written exam

    DAY 1 - PM:

• OW Dives 1 & 2 on EANx mixtures between 28% and 26%
• Students must verify gas analysis
• Written exam
