The Reef Check program brings together different people to:

- Construct a worldwide network of volunteered teams to regularly monitor and report on reef health.
- Scientifically investigate reef ecosystem processes.
- Facilitate collaboration among academia, NGO's, governments and business.
- Stimulate local community action to prevent remaining pristing reefs and rehabilitate damaged reefs worldwide using ecologically sound and economically sustainable solutions.
- To make a Coral Reef Condition check and monitoring any changes.
Why Are Coral Reefs Important:
Coral reefs are an ecosystem that contain the highest biological diversity in the world. Reefs protect beaches from storms and waves that causing beach erosion and abrasion. Reef fish and other resources found in coral reef ecosystems are important for local coastal communities.
