Finally it looks like tourism is returning to Bali again. Although the numbers of visitors coming to Bali is more then the amount of visitors back in beginning 2005, there is less rented accommodation. It seems that the average stay of people in Bali is approx. 7 days. There are plans to extend the lenght of tourist visa-on-arrival from the current 1 month to 4 month. With the longer validity of the visum, they hope that tourist are encouraged to stay longer then the current average 7 days.

NOVEMBER  2005 BALI INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL'S DIVING NEWS  UPDATE

BIDP have had a fantastic 2005 so far. We are now in November and now Bali has slowed down regarding holiday makers, serious divers continue to visit us. BIDP will be using this time to survey new dive sites around Bali. We will also be re-touching and servicing our dive vessel.

UNDERWATER BALI: We have had a unique Manta year, diving with pregnant manta of great numbers. They didn't really seem to mind us being there, we were encircled by them, huge ones! We have also been graced with The Oceanic Sunfish or Mola Mola on virtually every dive through the season. There have been 10-15 boats out in the Nusa Penida areas at one time. On more than one occassion every dive operator was returning with no sucess in finding Mola. However we waited our time  and tried different locations and big bingo! Our Instructors know exactly when our chances are high of seeing the Sunfish and several times during the high season  when all others had long faces we came into Sanur with huge grins! Avandy has some marvelous footage of them and we have sold footage to America and Singapore.

Avandy has mentioned that he has seen an increase in Thresher sharks this year. Regarding macro life there are more and more new species being found and soon we will be updating our photogallery and video clips for you to view them all. A sight we are particularily fond of is Puri Jati, north coast near Lovina. Certainly not a pretty site to look at but an absolute heaven for PHOTOGRAPHERS, VIDEOGRAPHERS and serious MUCK DIVERS! You really need to keep your eyes peeled and focused diving this site. It is so easy to dive and miss so much and you will need at least a day or so to get used to focusing on such tiny delights.

There are so many species in this secret garden and we have had to look up several, many of the less common critures, which were unknon to us. There seem to be many jeuvenile species of mollusks and crustaceans which  is obviously providing a thriving food chain which we can all beifit from. Critures & fish seen here are Juvenile Batavia Batfish, Demon stinger fish ( Inimicus Didactylus) not blessed with good looks! Sea horse (Hippocampus Histrix ) Robust Ghost pipe fish (Solenostomus Cyanopterus) Emperor shrimps (Periclimenes Imperator) Mantis shrimp, seasnakes, Cockatoo flounders, Stick pipefish (Trachyrhampus Bio-arctatus) Mimic octupii, and they are not the only creatures that mimik. It is a whole dive sight of mystery and trickery!

Dive with us on our BALI EXPLORER SAFARI 8 days 7 nights package or SAFARI ADVENTURE 4 days 3 nights to dive this dive site.

Watch this space in 2006 as we will be offering some unbeatable photography diving packages.

ADDITIONAL FEE - Sorry folks but diving in Seraya, Tulamben will cost you extra! One of our competitors has decided to charge us all to visit Seraya dive site as the entrance is accessed through the property which he is now renting. An additional fee to enter a diving location which belongs to us all in Bali. This an excellent macro diving area. However our view is that this area does not belong to anyone in particular, but, is for all of us to use and respect and we should all be able to access it freely. BIDP would have no problems with this 'charge' if it were to be donated to Bali's diving community, perhaps to contribute to clean our beaches or save our coral, but it doesn't. It goes in to the individual's pocket.

NEW STAFF - We welcome beautiful Kadek and Dolly to our staff. Kadek is in charge of reservations and Dolly accounting.

We also welcome scuba dog Nero to the family, THE BIG BALCK DOG, Avandy, Luci's and Cheyenne's cool dog, frequently likes a dip! His sister Keegan has Robert Delfs twisted around her paw!

BIDP have also some expansion plans for 2007-8 but will remain a personal company with our 'one on one' service.

BIDP are currently working on our video footage and building a large video library. We shall have updates ready sometime soon, hope not in Bali time!

BIDP will be visiting dive expo's in Europe in 2006 and if anyone would like to meet up just email us info@bidp-balidiving.com

The diving In Bali continues to be excellent, with it seems more species being found weekly and more pelagics choosing our bay's and islands to visit.
