ENRICHED AIR (EANx/NITROX)
Why dive Enriched Air (Nitrox) or mixed gas in Bali ?
Bali has some of the most spectacular dive sites in Indonesia, making you want to stay that little bit longer or go that bit deeper... Now you can, with Bali International Diving Professionals. Some sites simply offer so much more when diving with Nitrox. Whether you are a qualified EANX or Technical diver, or wishing to learn, we have an option for you.
Join Avandy on an exciting deep sea dive with Nitrox. He is certified to teach you how to dive with Nitrox & Trimix.
What is Nitrox?
Nitrox is a combination of Nitrogen and Oxygen. You have been breathing Nitrox since the day you were born. The air we breathe is comprised of approximately 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. Nitrox mixtures with percentages of oxygen greater than 21% are called Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx). Scuba divers most commonly use the EANx mixtures of EANx 32% (32% oxygen / 68% nitrogen) and EANx 36% (36% oxygen / 64% nitrogen).
NITROX EANx 20% up to 80% - TRIMIX & HELIOX OFFERED..
How EANx works
EANx replaces some of the nitrogen you breathe underwater with O2, so that during the dive you absorb less Nitrogen that you would, when breathing normal air. Your body metabolizes and otherwise absorbs the extra O2 used so that, within the limits of recreational enriched air diving, it does not contribute to bubble formation after a dive. This means you have longer no decompression limits for each depth you descend, using air. How much longer depends upon the blend of EANx. Military research shows divers have been using EANx for over 50 years, so it has been well researched. Caution! We must stress O2 used improperly has its dangers due to O2 toxicity. EANx has a more immediate risk than air but used safely both air and EANX have impressive safety records.
Why use EANx?
EANx diving has many advantages over air diving. Some of the benefits over air diving are:
-
EANx, when used with standard dive tables or computers, provides a tremendous safety factor when diving to the planned depth.
-
An extension of "no-decompression" time limits when using EANx dive tables.
-
A reduction of decompression time if the no-decompression limits are exceeded.
-
A reduction in residual nitrogen in the body following a dive.
-
A reduction in the narcotic effect of nitrogrogen
-
Reduced fatigue after the dive (declared by many EANx dive
Safety considerations 5 safety considerations which must not be ignored: Potential for O2 toxicity - stay within safe O2 limits & depths. Specialist equipment is required. Availability of enriched air. Proper gas blending & handling - safe enriched air diving requires certified knowledge and steps to ensure you have the correct blends. More complex dive planning - never rush your planning and double check your planning and discipline yourself to stay well within your limits - always! All of these concerns mean that only reputable qualified enriched air blenders should fill enriched air cylinders and work with Nitrox. Dive with Bali International Diving Professionals for all your diving requirements. By successfully completing a course or diving experience with EANx you are adding a new ability to your skills as a diver. A significant longer bottom time can open up a new underwater world to you. TECHNICAL DIVING IN BALI, INDONESIA There are several dive sites in Bali which extend below the limits of air and nitrox diving, to access these sites the use of mixed gas diving is necessary. Avandy is one of Bali's pioneer technical divers and training providers. BIDP has been offering tehnical diving since 1999 and are registered with IANTD No. 885& &
TECHNICAL DEEP DIVING LOCATIONS IN BALI The very deep ocean trench separating Bali from Nusa Penida offers excellent opportunities to encounter sharks, the occassional whale shark and, more famously, Mola Mola or sunfish. Coral slopes continue well below normal recreational dive limits and offer the technical diver an opportunity to explore largely untouched environments. Tulamben offers the technical diver the opportunity of following its drop offs and volcanic slopes to explore the wealth of coral and abundant marine life inaccessible to most of the divers frequenting this location. The walls along Menjangan Island continue to depths beyond the reach of single-tank dives. A wooden shipwreck starting at 40m together with the bright white sand and excellent light make these ideal deep dive sites. Many of the attractions of these and other deep dive sites can be seen even on training dives, making these first experiences even more memorable. BIDP Technical Diving Equipment We have 6 sets of twin cylinders. Included are: · OMS BCD Back Plates · OMS / Dive Rite Super Wings · MARES & SCUBAPRO regulators with DIN & YOKE connectors · Dive Rite harnesses · Lift bags & reels.
